Responsibilities

General Nature of Position:
Direction of Web, portal, institutional information technology (IT) training, and similar broad-based communications initiatives at the University of Georgia. Responsibilities include incorporating new methodologies and services within existing methodologies and services to enable the University to explore and exploit new and yet unknown areas of technology as related to Internet-based information delivery systems. Additional responsibilities include serving as a communications liaison between the CIO and other University units.

Primary Duties:

  • Research, develop, and oversee deployment of Web and portal-based information and service delivery resources in support of the mission of the University of Georgia.
  • Insure that the University's primary Internet presence is a reliable information resource for all visitors.
  • Participate in the definition and evaluation of solutions in various information technology areas which involve complex application development and deployment.
  • Interface with high-level University administrators to determine policy and appropriate use of computer facilities as they relate to information and service delivery resources.
  • Oversee general and specific training programs as related to campus-wide IT initiatives.
  • Communicate and promote in writing and supporting presentations technology directions, initiatives, and implementations in support of the CIO.
